Hadis ini menunjukkan bahawa senyum itu sunat dan tertawa bergelak-gelak itu makruh. Maka seharusnya orang yang sihat akal jangan gelak-gelak tertawa sebab banyak yang bergelak di dunia bererti akanbanyak menangis di akhirat. Allah SWT berfirman yang bermaksud:
“Hendaklah kamu sedikit ketawa dan banyak menangis setelah menerima pembalasan dari amal perbuatan mereka.”
Al-Hasan Basri berkata: “Sungguh ajaib seseorang dapat tertawa pada hal di belakangnya ada Api Neraka dan orang yang bersuka-suka sedang di belakangnya maut.”
Fakta daripada barat pula mengatakan ketawa merupakan kaedah perubatan terbaik untuk minda and tubuh badan. Disamping itu, menurut mereka kaedah rawatan ini adalah kaedah untuk menghilangkan stress.

In addition, laughter give powerful antidote to stress, pain, and conflict. Nothing works faster or more dependably to bring your mind and body back into balance than a good laugh.

With so much power to heal and renew, the ability to laugh easily and frequently is a tremendous resource for surmounting problems, enhancing your relationships, and supporting both physical and emotional health.
Laughter relaxes the whole body. A good, hearty laugh relieves physical tension and stress, leaving your muscles relaxed for up to 45 minutes after.
Laughter boosts the immune system. Laughter decreases stress hormones and increases immune cells and infection-fighting antibodies, thus improving your resistance to disease.

Memang tak dinafikan kajian perubatan sebegini, terbukti benar, tapi kita juga perlu melihat cara hidup masyarakat barat, mereka hidup bebas bersosial, tanpa bimbingan agama, hidup mereka penuh dengan stress, minda mahupun jasmani dan natijahnya mereka mencari altenatif seperti hiburan bagi mewujudkan suasana humor untuk menghilangkan stress tanpa perlu merujuk kepada agama.
